A little bit about me
Hi I’m Holly Inverarity, a passionate pilates teacher with over 13 years of experience and the founder of Reframe Pilates.
Originally from Canada, I moved to London in 2007, but my love affair with pilates actually began in 1998. I had been practising ballet for 15 years and was looking for a form of exercise to complement my dance training. I found pilates and was immediately impressed with the changes I saw in both my body and mind - I felt stronger, more flexible and my overall wellbeing was greatly improved. I decided to take the plunge and turn my passion for pilates into a career in 2010 and trained with the prestigious Body Control Pilates in Central London.
I launched Reframe Pilates in 2011 and have been sharing my love of movement and wellbeing ever since. I have two young daughters and experienced pregnancy and postpartum recovery twice myself, and as I now begin to experience perimenopause myself, I am even more passionate about the health and wellness benefits of pilates and movement for women, for life. Above all else, I want to help every body find the time to move, stretch, strengthen, breathe, and connect to your body.
'Pilates develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind and elevates the spirit.'
- Joseph Pilates
Why Pilates?
Pilates is a body-conditioning method that targets deep postural muscles and it works by building strength from the inside out, rebalancing the body and bringing it into better alignment. Regular practise will improve your posture, increase your strength and flexibility, as well as help reduce stress and tension. Pilates can be tailored to suit all levels and bodies and is an excellent way to complement sports training, promote recovery from an injury and develop functional fitness for your daily life. Each and every exercise is built around eight basic principles:
Relaxation | Concentration | Co-ordination | Centring | Alignment | Breathing | Stamina | Flowing Movements
'When all your muscles are properly developed you will, as a matter of course, perform your work with minimum effort and maximum pleasure.'
